The DP scanners are outdated and have been replaced with IBML's. The new scanners are online and are presently being test run. BIDM will still require the DP scanners as a back up until the new scanners are operating 100%. During this time, if the scanners have any processing issues, BIDM will have to revert back to the current system being maintained by Burrough's. This EPO extension will be for 3 months, but we can/will cancel early if the new scanners perform as expected.

Justification for Extension:
|
We want to extend the PO three months so there will be no lapse in service if the new scanners have any problems during their initial start-up phase. We will be able to cancel this PO early if the emergency maintenance is not needed through 12/31/20. Burrough's only requires 30 days written notice.

Result, if not Approved:
|
If we do not process this EPO extension, we run the risk of checks and coupons not being
processed under already critical circumstances. Burroughs is set up as a sole source vendor to service these machines. We have no other options for service if we have issues with the new IBML's.
